At A Space Between, we pride ourselves on supporting your career journey as an independent therapist to the best of our abilities. A co-working space that’s designed with comfort in mind, we provide facilities for therapists (and other professionals) to schedule client therapy sessions in; as well as connect you with other mental health professionals in our community.
Our Privilege Plan takes our standard offerings a step further, to help elevate your practice in our thoughtfully and beautifully designed spaces. With the Privilege Plan, you’ll be able to rent our therapy rooms on a long-term basis, minimising any logistical concerns you may have while you expand your practice.
This is what our members have to say about how being on the Privilege Plan has changed their practice.

Denise Tong – “My room helps me to recharge and prepare for the next client.”
With a Master in Counselling and a Master in Science (Human Nutrition), Denise is experienced and able to help her clients deal with a range of mental health issues. She’s been with A Space Between for around three years; and on the Privilege Plan for the past year or so.
The Privilege Plan can be shared across three member therapists, which can be a cost-effective and time-saving option for members; and this is the arrangement that Denise is on. “My roomates are the kindest and sweetest people (Dr Yeow May, who you’ll hear from later, and Eugene) around! We’ve worked out an arrangement where I have the room on Mondays and Fridays, and so my clients now know they can only ask for appointments on these two days. This clear segregation of work and non-work days is helpful, especially with helping me balance being a new mother with returning to work.”
“One of the best features of the Privilege Plan is being able to store my props and toys in the room, which I use for psychodrama in my sessions,” says Denise. “This makes it a lot more convenient for me, as I don’t have to keep transporting them back and forth.”
Asked about how she envisions her practice growing with A Space Between, Denise shares, “I hope to normalise group therapy in Singapore, although this may sound ambitious. There’s a group therapy room in A Space Between that would be great for group work.”
Dr. Roy Chan – “Being on the Privilege Plan gives me more flexibility with my practice.”
Dr. Roy is a doctoral level clinical psychologist, whose therapeutic style is focused on psychodynamic psychotherapy; with a special interest in special interest in love, sex and relationships. He has been with A Space Between and on the Privilege Plan for the past two years. (And according to Denise, has a beautifully decorated room!)
“Because the room is always there for me to use, the Privilege Plan offers me more flexibility and ability to manage my own schedule or any delays,” says Dr. Roy, about how the Privilege Plan has helped him elevate his services. “Additionally, it’s nice to be able to sit and chill in my room, in between sessions or at the end of the day, when I need to reflect the sessions and do my administrative tasks.”
Beyond the Privilege Plan, the location and thoughtful design of A Space Between has also been important in creating a feeling of safety with his clients. “They like that the office has three different approaches to the premise, as it gives them privacy and discreteness to come and go unseen. The decor and main area are also comfortable to wait in for their appointments.”
With A Space Between’s facilities and features, Dr. Roy envisions a future together, where our spaces play a key role in his growing practice: “I hope to slowly take up more space here as I expand my team of therapists.”

Dr. Tan Yeow May – “I’d love to personalise the psychotherapy space a little more where I can.”
With over eight years of experience working with adolescents and adults across Western Australia and Singapore, Dr. Yeow May has been practising out of A Space Between and on the Privilege Plan for around a year in total. “To be exact, it was nine months in 2023, and four months and counting in 2025!”
“The Privilege Plan has really saved me the hassle of room bookings, and given me more flexibility in my sessions. For example, I’m able to extend my sessions if I see my clients need more time, without any worry that I’m potentially eating into any other member’s booking,” says Dr. Yeow May about the benefit of being on the plan. “It helps me feel more comfortable and at ease when I have the room, as I know I don’t have to vacate at a set time.”
In addition to the convenience that the Privilege Plan has provided, her clients have also generally enjoyed the experience of being in A Space Between. “They firstly like how convenient the location is, and also the wonderful view it has.”
Qi Zhai-McCartney – “My favourite thing about the Privilege Plan is the sense of belonging.”
As a psychotherapist and coach, Qi Zhai-McCartney has over ten years of experience. She helps professionals, leaders, individuals, and couples to improve their communication, break unhelpful patterns, and strengthen their relationships.
“Being on the Privilege Plan has freed up my mindspace from stressing over room bookings; and I’ve really enjoyed the feeling of being ‘settled’,” says Qi. “I use tools in my sessions. I also like to have some sweet treats, nice scents, and other elements that create a relaxing safe atmosphere. It’s easier to do these things because I can leave essential items in my dedicated therapy room. It helps me feel like this space is really ‘mine’.”
As we’ve designed the Privilege Plan with an independent practitioner’s concerns in mind, we know the importance of flexibility; and this includes the lock-in period. This is something that Qi has found useful: “I also like knowing that I still have flexibility to choose – with a 6 month commitment, it means that if I decide to scale back my client-facing hours, I am at liberty to do so without incurring penalty fees.”
Asked about how she envisions her practice elevating with A Space Between, Qi shares, “With a dedicated room and the option to add other members to my Privilege Plan, I have the option of expanding my team or collaborating with other therapists, which helps round out my offerings as well as defray rental costs.”
At A Space Between, your journey as an independent mental health expert is our priority; and we hope to be able to grow alongside you. If you’re a therapist looking for a new home for your practice, reach out to us for a free tour of our premises.
