We are excited to announce a virtual talk on “Understanding Transgender Mental Health” with our guest speaker, June Chua. As a mental health advocate and founder of The T Project, a Singapore-based non-profit organisation that provides support for the transgender community, June has extensive experience working with transgender individuals and understanding their unique mental health needs.
This talk is designed for mental health practitioners who want to better serve the transgender community. June will discuss the difference between LGBT-friendly therapists and transgender-affirming therapists, and why it is important for therapists to be aware of this difference in order to provide effective and compassionate care for transgender clients. She will also share her personal experience as a transgender person and how it has shaped her advocacy work.
The event will be held on Google Meet and the link will be sent to attendees an hour before the stated time. To RSVP, please email [email protected]. We kindly ask for a donation for the tickets, and all proceeds will be given to the volunteer speaker(s).
Priority will be given to active members of A Space Between, but we welcome non-members who are interested in attending this event, subject to approval. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable insight into transgender mental health and enhance your professional skills in this area. We look forward to seeing you there!
