Sarvesh Melvin is a registered counsellor with Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC). He is also a certified hypnotherapist under the American Board of Hypnotherapy (ABH). Melvin works with clients who come from diverse backgrounds, who sees him for a wide range of issues. Melvin utilises a collaborative and real life approach to develop goals and intervention strategies that will best meet the needs of his clients. Melvin is a strong advocate for empowerment. What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?

I continue to attend workshops and trainings to further improve my competency as a therapist and I do research during my free time to refresh and improvise my skill set to accommodate the changing landscape within the mental health community.

What advice would you give to someone who is hesitant to try therapy?

After your first session, you might either walk out with a healthy discussion or the blueprint to becoming a new empowered and resourceful individual. Either ways, you’ve got nothing to lose. So take your chances and start reaping the benefits of therapy today.

I don’t have any formal training, but I do work with clients who are from the LGBTQ community.
