Sheena Ang

Sheena Ang is a dynamic coach, educator, facilitator and leadership specialist with over 17 years of experience in human growth and development. Her natural ability to bring out the core essence in people, combined with her warm and compassionate presence makes her a master at supporting clients on their journeys of personal and professional transformation. Clients describe Sheena as having energy that is as bright as the sun, and a presence that energizes and empowers. When Sheena turned 18, she decided to seek greater purpose, meaning and fulfilment in life. She made a radical decision to withdraw from her accounting studies to find out what would make her heart sing. A chance encounter led her to an early years classroom and there, for the first time in her life, she experienced the state of flow and wished that her day at work would never end. She was awarded the Outstanding Kindergarten Teacher Award by Singapore’s Ministry of Education 3 years after that faithful day and during this time, she learnt about what it takes to foster joy, enrich relationships and inspire others towards growth. In the decade that followed, Sheena took on various leadership roles that saw her leading schools, leaders and teachers on powerful journeys of transformation. Sheena attributed much of the success to her ability to coach. In fact, she sees coaching as her primary superpower – the power that enables her to facilitate life-changing conversations, workshops and transformation journeys to evoke life- and world-changing impact. Hence, in 2021, she decided to pursue formal coach training and certification. Today, Sheena has accumulated nearly 400 hours of coaching, is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC), Associate Certified Coach (ACC) by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), and is completing her Certification in NeuroTransformation Coaching (CNTC). Outside of the field of education, Sheena has coached Founders and Executives from various sectors including but not limited to the Finance, Media, Advertising, Branding, Healthcare, IT and Banking sector. Sheena has also designed and led bespoke transformation journeys for organisations who are committed to improve their organisational health and effectiveness, and humanise the workplace. With a unique combination of expertise in coaching, neuroscience, leadership, and education, Sheena is on her mission to shine light on what matters but is unseen, unheard and unspoken – to enable individuals, schools and organisations to achieve the radical growth and transformation they are longing for.

What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?

The increasing mental health awareness is definitely something that warms my heart. More has to be done to break down the stigmas and combat misconceptions, but we have certainly made tremendous progress from a decade ago. I am also thrilled to see more people becoming aware that coaching is indeed a proven and powerful way to support and elevate our mental health-and well-being. This is substantiated by research. Groundbreaking research from published in the Journal of Medical Internet Research, the leading peer-reviewed digital health journal globally, showcases the effectiveness of coaching as an intervention for building well-being and mental fitness and provides a roadmap of the stages of mental health growth. More and more people are recognising coaching as a highly personalised and individualised well-being intervention - and it is.

What advice would you give to someone who is hesitant to try therapy?

There is absolutely nothing to lose, and you might be (beyond) pleasantly surprised. A single coaching conversation could change the way you see yourself, the way you show up at home, in the workplace, and in the community and as a result, transform the relationship you have with yourself, with others, and with life. Your greatest self might have been waiting your whole life; don't make it wait any longer.

What should someone know about working with you?

In our coaching relationship, I hold you as naturally creative, resourceful and whole. I see you as the expert of your own life and that you are capable: capable of finding answers to the questions you have, capable of making conscious choices that are aligned to your truths, capable of taking powerful actions to change your life, and, capable of learning. With this, there is absolutely nothing that I want to or can teach you. I am here to help you uncover what you have within yourself, and thereby discover things that you could not see by yourself. In service of you, I will also challenge you and call you forth with radical honesty and love to help you break the barriers to your own transformation. By choosing to work with me, you can radically change your life.
